WASHINGTON (CNN) Senator Vernon Bernie Sanders accused Donald Trump of a lack of commitment to middle-class voters, pointing to his cabinet and senior adviser's relationship with Wall Street.
"This guy is a fraud," Sanders told CNN's Jack Tapper on Sunday about the "National League."
"This guy went to the US President said," I, Donald Trump, I want to bring Wall Street - these guys are evading murder. Then all of a sudden, he appointed all these billionaires, "Sanders said.
Trump chose former Goldman Sachs trader and hedge fund manager Steve Mnuchin as his finance minister nominee; William Ross, a former billionaire banker, heads the Commerce Department; and Gary Cohn, a senior executive at Goldman Sachs, National Economic Council.
Trump began to dissolve Obama's financial regulations
Sanders said Trump's appointments and advisers directly contradicted his commitment to re-establish the Glass-Steagall bill, a separate business and investment bank, which was repealed by Clinton.
Trump signed an executive order Friday, laying the groundwork for rewriting US financial-regulation measures to encourage more US corporate loans.
The White House also said it could change the structure of financial regulators, especially the Consumer Financial Protection Agency. Trump writes that regulators must "restore public responsibility", a backhand reference to the CFPB, and some Republicans draw a lack of oversight for a rogue regulator.
"He's a good actor and I'll give you -
"It's hard not to see President Trump and the Wall Street people together," Sanders said.
